Richie Lucas

Richard John Lucas, born April 15, 1938, in Glassport, Pennsylvania, was a quarterback in the American Football League during the early 1960s. He played college football at Penn State, where he won the Maxwell Award in 1959. Coach Rip Engle described him as "the modern version of the old triple-threat player" for his abilities as a passer, runner, and punter, along with his defensive contributions. Lucas went on to play professionally in the AFL with the Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos.
