Robert Baun

Robert Neil Baun (September 9, 1936 – August 14, 2023), known as "Boomer," was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 17 NHL seasons from 1956 to 1973. He starred in junior hockey with the Toronto Marlboros, winning back-to-back Memorial Cups in 1955 and 1956, before joining the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. Baun spent the bulk of his career in Toronto, winning the Stanley Cup in 1962, 1963, 1964, and 1967. Regarded as one of the hardest and cleanest hitters of his era, he was not an offensive force, never topping 20 points in a single NHL season.
