Roland Eriksson

Roland Eriksson (born March 1, 1954, in Stora Tuna, Sweden) was a Swedish ice hockey forward who played in the National Hockey League during the late 1970s. Selected 131st overall by the Minnesota North Stars — the first Swede ever drafted by the franchise — Eriksson had previously excelled with Leksands IF in Sweden, earning a spot on the Swedish All-Star Team in 1975–76 and recording 15 points in 10 games at that year's World Championships. A tall, playmaking center, he entered the NHL in 1976–77 with four assists in his first game, tying an NHL record, and went on to post 25 goals and 44 assists for 69 points, setting a North Stars rookie record and leading all NHL rookies in both assists and points.
