Ronald Charles Cey, nicknamed "The Penguin" by Washington State University coach Chuck Brayton for his waddling running gait, played third base in Major League Baseball from 1971 through 1987. Born in Tacoma, Washington, Cey attended Washington State before being selected in the second phase of the 1968 MLB draft. He spent the bulk of his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he was part of four National League pennant-winning teams and one World Series championship. A six-time All-Star, he was named co-MVP of the 1981 World Series. He finished his career with the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics.
