Ron Lalonde

Ron Lalonde (born October 30, 1952, in Toronto, Ontario) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent his NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals from 1972 to 1979. He came up through the Ontario Hockey League before turning professional with the Hershey Bears in 1972–73, appearing in nine games with Pittsburgh that season. Traded to Washington in December 1974, he spent the majority of his career in the Capitals organization. In 397 NHL games, Lalonde scored 45 goals and added 78 assists for 123 points. On March 30, 1975, he became the first player in Capitals franchise history to record a hat trick, doing so against the Detroit Red Wings.
