Ron Sobie

Ron Sobie (Ronald Charles Sobieszczyk; September 21, 1934 – October 23, 2009) was an American professional basketball player. He played at DePaul University under coach Ray Meyer from 1953 to 1956, scoring 1,222 points and touring with the College All-Stars alongside the Harlem Globetrotters. Sobie spent four NBA seasons with the New York Knicks and Minneapolis Lakers, totaling 1,691 points before a knee injury ended his run. He later had brief stints with the Washington Generals and the Chicago Majors of the ABL.
