Rudolph May Jr. (1944–2024) was a left-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1965 and 1969 through 1983, appearing for the California Angels, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Montreal Expos. Early in his career he possessed a live fastball, but became known primarily for a sharp-breaking curveball. May attended Castlemont High School in Oakland, California, where future Hall-of-Famer Joe Morgan was a teammate. He led the American League in earned run average in 1980.
