Russ Washington

Russell Eugene Washington (1946–2021) was an offensive tackle who spent his entire 15-season NFL career with the San Diego Chargers, from 1968 to 1982. Selected fourth overall in the 1968 NFL/AFL Draft out of the University of Missouri, he began his career as a defensive tackle before moving to the offensive line. At 6-foot-6 and close to 300 pounds, Washington was known for his size and durability, appearing in 200 games for San Diego and anchoring a 148-consecutive-game streak as the team's starting right tackle. He was a central figure on the offensive line that powered the Air Coryell passing attack of the early 1980s.
