Sam DeLuca

Saverio Frank "Sam" DeLuca (1936–2011) was an offensive tackle in the American Football League during the late 1950s and 1960s. A three-year letterman at the University of South Carolina, where he was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005, DeLuca played six professional seasons split between the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers and the New York Jets. He was on the Jets' roster during their 1969 championship season. After his playing career, DeLuca moved into broadcasting, serving as color commentator on Jets radio over WABC and WOR and later working NFL telecasts for NBC Sports.
