Arthur Frederick Hofman, known as "Circus Solly" (October 29, 1882 - March 10, 1956). He was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, listed in playing days at 6'0", 160 lbs. He batted right-handed and threw right-handed. His major-league career ran from 1903 through 1916, primarily with the Chicago Cubs of the National League. His broader professional ledger — including minor-league seasons — extends from 1901 through 1916.
