Sonny Dove

Lloyd "Sonny" Dove (August 16, 1945 – February 14, 1983) was an American professional basketball player born in Hyannis, Massachusetts. He starred at St. John's University in New York, where in his final season of 1967 he won the Haggerty Award. That same year he was a member of the United States basketball team that captured the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg. In 2005 Dove was among the first ten players named to St. John's "Basketball Legacy Honors," and in 2011 he was inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
