Steve Blass

Stephen Robert Blass (born April 18, 1942, Canaan, Connecticut) was a right-handed pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1964 and 1966 through 1974. He ranked among the National League's top pitchers between 1968 and 1972, going 18-6 with a 2.12 ERA and seven shutouts in 1968. Blass contributed to four NL Eastern Division titles in five years and delivered two complete-game victories against the Baltimore Orioles in the 1971 World Series — making him the last National League pitcher to throw a complete game in a World Series Game Seven. He later spent 34 years as a television color commentator for Pirates broadcasts.
