Stephen Russell Braun (born May 8, 1948) played 15 seasons in Major League Baseball as an outfielder, third baseman, and designated hitter. Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 10th round of the 1966 draft, he debuted on April 6, 1971, and went on to play for the Twins, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, and St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the 1982 Cardinals team that defeated the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series. Braun compiled a .271 batting average over 1,425 games and is one of the few players in MLB history to accumulate more than 100 pinch hits.
