Steve Busby

Dossier
Steve Busby (born September 29, 1949) was a right-handed pitcher who spent his entire Major League Baseball career with the Kansas City Royals after being drafted by the club in the second round in 1971. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Busby won 16 games in 1973 and on April 27 of that year threw the first no-hitter in Royals franchise history, defeating the Detroit Tigers 3–0 at Tiger Stadium. He later added a second no-hitter, making him the author of the first two no-hitters in franchise history. His career was cut short by a rotator cuff tear after a promising start that included 56 wins over his first three full seasons.
