Steve Grogan played quarterback in the NFL for 16 seasons, all with the New England Patriots. Born July 24, 1953, he played college football for the Kansas State Wildcats before being selected by New England in the fifth round of the 1975 NFL draft. Grogan set a quarterback record with 12 rushing touchdowns in 1976, a mark that stood for 35 seasons, and ran for over 500 yards in 1978. His statistically strongest season came in 1979. He appeared in Super Bowl XX, throwing the Patriots' only touchdown pass. Upon retiring in 1990, he held numerous New England passing and longevity records.
