Steve Stone pitched in Major League Baseball from 1971 to 1981, throwing for four teams before his career peaked with the Baltimore Orioles. Born July 14, 1947, in South Euclid, Ohio, Stone attended Kent State University before reaching the majors. His finest season came in 1980, when he went 25–7 for Baltimore and won the American League Cy Young Award, also earning an AL All-Star selection that year. After retiring, Stone moved to broadcasting, spending over two decades as the color commentator for Chicago Cubs telecasts on WGN-TV before joining the Chicago White Sox broadcast booth in 2009.
