Stewart "Stew" Johnson (born August 19, 1944) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6-foot-8-inch forward/center born in New York City, he attended Murray State University, where he broke the color barrier in 1963 as the first black varsity basketball player for a four-year program in the southeastern United States, excluding historically black colleges and universities. He played for Murray State in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Over three varsity seasons, Johnson appeared in 76 games and averaged 16.8 points and 12.9 rebounds while shooting .417 from the field and .731 from the free-throw line, scoring 1,275 career points. A two-time All-OVC selection, he averaged 20.0 points and 14.1 rebounds as a junior, ranking second in the conference in rebounding. He was a regular on three consecutive winning Racer teams.

The New York Knicks selected Johnson in the third round of the 1966 NBA draft. He never played in the NBA, instead joining the rival American Basketball Association.
