Terry Hanratty

Terry Hanratty (born January 19, 1948) was a quarterback who played college football at Notre Dame, where he was a three-year starter, a two-time All-American, and a Heisman Trophy candidate. Alongside receiver Jim Seymour, he helped lead the Fighting Irish to the 1966 national championship. Selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1969 NFL Draft under head coach Chuck Noll, Hanratty served primarily as a backup quarterback during his professional career, winning two Super Bowls with Pittsburgh. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2025.
