Tex Carleton

James Otto "Tex" Carleton (1906–1977) was a right-handed pitcher who spent nine seasons in Major League Baseball from 1932 to 1940, appearing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and Brooklyn Dodgers. He finished his career with 100 wins, 76 losses, and a 3.90 ERA. On April 30, 1940, pitching for Brooklyn, Carleton threw a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds — a remarkable turn given that he had been sold to the minors and released just one year prior. He also recorded exactly 100 hits as a batter, matching his win total, with a .185 average over 540 at-bats.
