Tody Smith

Dossier
Lawrence "Tody" Edward Smith (1948–1999) was a defensive end who played college football at the University of Southern California after transferring from Michigan State University, where his older brother Bubba had played. At USC, Smith anchored a defensive line that became known as "The Wild Bunch" alongside Al Cowlings, Jimmy Gunn, Willard Scott, and Charlie Weaver. The unit helped USC post a 10-0-1 record in 1969 and a No. 3 national ranking following a victory over Michigan in the 1970 Rose Bowl. Smith went on to play professionally in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Oilers, and Buffalo Bills.
