Tom Addison

Thomas Marion Addison (April 12, 1936 – June 14, 2011) was a professional football linebacker who attended the University of South Carolina. Despite being drafted by both the Baltimore Colts (NFL) and Ottawa Rough Riders (CFL), he signed with the Boston Patriots of the newly formed American Football League in 1960, playing his entire pro career there. Named team captain, Addison was selected to the AFL All-Star team four consecutive years (1961–1964) and earned Sporting News All-League honors in 1963 and 1964. He recorded 16 career interceptions and played in 84 consecutive Patriots games from 1961 to 1966. He is a member of the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
