Tom Hinton

William Thomas Hinton (born 1936) played offensive guard for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League from 1958 to 1966. A product of Louisiana Tech University, where he earned three All-Gulf States Conference selections and helped his team claim the conference championship, Hinton went on to a nine-year CFL career that established him as the finest offensive lineman in Lions history. He earned a Western All-Star selection as a rookie in 1958, was named CFL Outstanding Lineman and Outstanding Player in his second season, and was a five-time CFL All-Star. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1991 and the BC Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.
