Tom Morgan

Tom Morgan (May 20, 1930 – January 13, 1987) was a right-handed pitcher from El Monte, California who spent parts of thirteen seasons in the major leagues. Signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent before the 1949 season, Morgan went 38-22 with 26 saves in his first five years with New York and appeared in three World Series (1952, 1955, 1956). He later pitched for the Kansas City Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, and Los Angeles Angels. Known by the nickname "Plowboy" for his California farming background, he finished his career with a combined record spanning stints as both a starter and reliever.
