Tom Simpson

Tom Simpson (born August 12, 1952) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who spent his career in the World Hockey Association, appearing in 314 games. Known to fans as "Shotgun," Simpson played for the Toronto Toros, Birmingham Bulls, and Edmonton Oilers. In the 1974–75 WHA season, he scored 50 goals, becoming one of six players to reach that mark that year and the first professional player in Toronto hockey history to score 50 goals in a season — a distinction he held until 1981. After retiring, he worked as a health and safety coordinator and settled in Peterborough, Ontario.
