Tony Cloninger

Tony Lee Cloninger (August 13, 1940 – July 24, 2018) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1961 through 1972 for the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals. A power pitcher, he finished his career with a 113–97 record, 1,120 strikeouts, and a 4.07 ERA. His best season came in 1965 with the Braves, when he went 24–11 with 211 strikeouts. On July 3, 1966, he became the first National League player and remains the only pitcher to hit two grand slams in a single game, driving in nine runs in a 17–3 win over San Francisco.
