Truman Claytor

Dossier
Truman Claytor was an American college basketball player who was a guard for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. As a 6'1" junior during the 1977–78 season, he played for a Kentucky team coached by Joe B. Hall that finished 30–2, won the SEC Championship, and captured the 1978 NCAA Championship with a 94–88 victory over Duke. Claytor averaged 6.9 points per game that season, contributing alongside a roster that featured Jack Givens, Rick Robey, Kyle Macy, James Lee, and Mike Phillips. The championship was Kentucky's fifth national title and its first in twenty years, secured behind Givens' 41-point performance against Duke. Following the season, the team went on an exhibition tour of Japan in June.
