Vean Gregg

Sylveanus Augustus "Vean" Gregg (1885–1964) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1911 through 1925 for the Cleveland Naps, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Athletics, and Washington Senators. Known as "the Western Wonder," Gregg won 20 or more games in each of his first three MLB seasons — the only pitcher in the 20th century to accomplish that feat. He led the American League in earned run average in 1911, posting a 23–7 record with a 1.80 ERA. Gregg was on the Boston roster when the Red Sox won the 1915 World Series, though he did not appear in the Series.
