Wally Hergesheimer

Walter Edgar Hergesheimer (January 8, 1927 – September 27, 2014) was a Canadian ice hockey forward who played in the NHL from 1952 to 1959, primarily with the New York Rangers before finishing his career with the Chicago Black Hawks. Before reaching the NHL, he earned the AHL's Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as Rookie of the Year in 1951 and was named to the AHL Second All-Star Team that same year. He was selected for the NHL All-Star Game in 1953 and 1956. Hergesheimer is an Honoured Member of both the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
