Walter Roberts

Walter "The Flea" Roberts (born February 15, 1942) was a wide receiver and kick return specialist in the NFL, playing for the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and Washington Redskins. At 5-foot-9 and 163 pounds, he was among the smallest players of his era, earning his nickname for his size and speed. As a rookie with Cleveland, he contributed as a kick returner to the Browns' 1964 NFL championship team. Roberts attended Compton High School and played college football at San Jose State, where he was also an All-American jumper and finished eighth in the triple jump at the 1962 NCAA track and field championships.
