Walter Smaill

Walter Sydney Smaill (December 18, 1884 – March 2, 1971) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who competed across the National Hockey Association, Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association, and Pacific Coast Hockey Association over 137 games. A left wing by trade, Smaill was also deployed as a cover-point due to his rushing ability, making him a versatile utility player. He skated for the Cobalt Silver Kings, Ottawa Senators, Victoria Aristocrats, and Montreal Wanderers, winning the Stanley Cup with the Wanderers in both 1907 and 1908. He was known for embracing the physical elements of the game.
