Dossier
Wayne Bianchin (born September 6, 1953) is a Canadian-born Italian left winger who played in the NHL from 1973 to 1980. Selected 23rd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft after scoring 60 goals in 68 games with the Flin Flon Bombers, Bianchin posted 25 points in his rookie season before a broken neck sustained while body surfing sidelined his development. His best NHL season came in 1976–77, when he appeared in 79 games and scored 28 goals for Pittsburgh. He finished his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers following the 1979 Expansion Draft, appearing in eleven games. He later represented Italy at the 1981 World Championship B Pool.
