Wayne Carleton

Kenneth Wayne "Swoop" Carleton, a Canadian professional ice hockey player born August 4, 1946, played left wing in the National Hockey League and the World Hockey Association during the 1960s and 1970s. He began in junior hockey with the Toronto Marlboros from 1961–62 through 1965–66, playing a starring role as the Marlboros won the 1964 Memorial Cup.

The Toronto Maple Leafs called Carleton up for two games during the 1965–66 NHL season, and he earned a regular spot with the Leafs the following season. He later played for the Boston Bruins and the California Golden Seals. Carleton was a member of the Stanley Cup-winning 1969–70 Boston Bruins, and he was on the ice as the left wing on Derek Sanderson's line when Bobby Orr scored his Cup-clinching goal in the fourth game of the 1970 Stanley Cup Finals. His best NHL season came in 1970–71, when he recorded 46 points on 22 goals and 24 assists.

Carleton played in the NHL through the 1971–72 season, then moved to the WHA, where he played for the Ottawa Nationals, Toronto Toros, and Edmonton Oilers.
