Wayne Hall played middle guard at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he earned consensus All-American honors in both 1966 and 1967. During his three seasons with the Cornhuskers the team went 25–7. In 1966 he blocked three punts and recovered two for touchdowns, and he set Nebraska records for most tackles in a season and most tackles in a career. Hall went on to play three seasons in the National Football League, from 1968 to 1970, before departing the game.
