Wayne Hawkins

Dossier
Wayne Allen Hawkins (June 17, 1938 – July 25, 2022) was a professional football guard who played ten seasons in the American Football League and National Football League. Born in Fort Peck, Montana, he attended Shasta High School in Redding, California, before playing college football for the Pacific Tigers at the University of the Pacific. Drafted by the Denver Broncos in the AFL's inaugural 1960 draft, Hawkins was reassigned to the Oakland Raiders through the allocation draft and remained with the franchise from its founding in 1960 through 1970, making him one of only twenty players to have played in the AFL for the league's entire ten-year existence.
