William George Werle (December 21, 1920 - November 27, 2010) was an American left-handed Major League Baseball pitcher from Oakland, California. He pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, and Boston Red Sox from 1949 to 1954, winning a career-high 12 games as a rookie in 1949. Over his career he recorded 29 wins, 39 losses, a 4.69 earned run average, and 283 strikeouts. Nicknamed "Bugs" for his interest in entomology, he later worked as a scout for Baltimore and Cleveland into the 1990s.
