John Lee Lowenstein (born January 27, 1947) is an American former Major League Baseball outfielder and designated hitter. Born in Wolf Point, Montana, he played for the Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles. With the Orioles he was part of a left-field platoon with Gary Roenicke during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He hit an extra-inning walk-off home run in Game 1 of the 1979 American League Championship Series and contributed to the Orioles' 1983 World Series championship. His best season came in 1982, when he hit .320 with 24 home runs in 122 games. He was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 2015.
