Montford Anthony Stickles (August 16, 1938 – September 3, 2006) was an American football tight end and end who played in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints. At the University of Notre Dame he was a two-time All-American, earning consensus status as a senior in 1959, and also kicked extra points. The 49ers selected him 11th overall in the first round of the 1960 NFL draft. His best season came in 1961, when he recorded career highs of 43 receptions, 794 yards, and five touchdowns. He played for San Francisco from 1960 to 1967 before being traded to New Orleans, where he played his final season in 1968. After football he worked in radio broadcasting, including play-by-play and analyst roles for college and professional teams in the San Francisco Bay Area.
